…because the bastard’s always right.
Well, at least when it comes to must watch TV shows.
Some time ago, Jimmy recommended I watch a little show called Veronica Mars. It’s the tale of a high school girl whose life is turned upside down when her father the sheriff wrongly accuses one of the town’s most influential men of the murder of his only daughter. The father gets lynched out of office and the mother/wife leaves Veronica and her father to fend for themselves. Dad starts up an investigation firm (which consist of himself and Veronica) and there you have the premise of the show.
Now unless I’d have watched the first couple of episodes, I’d have never known a thing about the plot. I’d seen commercials on TV telling me to watch it, of course, but like everything else in life, you never know until you try. So, now that I’ve seen it, I really like it. In the last couple of weeks, in attempts to avoid seeing LOST as it aired (long story), I found myself flirting with the idea of watching this little blonde firecracker do her thing on Wednesdays. Watching TV as it airs isn’t something that I normally do. Strangely enough, I prefer to download a show and watch it at my leisure, free from the burden of forced schedules and commercials. Now I realized that we were into the second season of the show, and that there would likely be several things about the show that I’d likely not fully appreciate or understand, but I tuned in and what was there was enough to make me want to backtrack. It also didn’t help my interest much when my friend/coworker came to me telling me about how much he loved it. So there you have it. I’ve got yet another show added to my ever growing list, and I can’t wait for the next episode.
Big thanks to Jimbo for hooking me up with that burned DVD those many (days?months?years?) ago.
